Meet the team behind NewGen

James was born and raised in San Antonio and has spent the past 22 years in home improvement and construction. His companies have handled nearly every part of the home: pier-and-beam and slab foundation repair, roofing, storm restoration, large insurance renovations, window installation, and kitchen and bath remodels. He holds certifications in multiple types of roofing and siding installation.

NewGen Home Solutions grew out of that experience. James created it as a separate company focused on what homeowners asked for most: windows, doors and bath-to-shower conversions. He saw a real need for an honest, reliable contractor in the bath conversion space. To bring homeowners the best options in windows and doors, NewGen partnered with Window Depot USA as a licensee, combining the strength of a national company with the personal care of a local team.

For James, communication is everything. Homeowners should know exactly what's happening at every stage, from the first conversation to the final walkthrough and beyond. His advice to anyone planning a project: don't choose price over quality. It may cost a little more up front, but it will be done right the first time.

Outside of work, James is a husband, a father of two sons, and a grandfather of two. He and his family rescued Coco, a Mountain Cur, as a puppy about four and a half years ago. He grew up playing golf and even taught the game in his mid-20s. He also enjoys woodworking, time outdoors, and cheering on the Houston Astros and San Antonio Spurs. He speaks some Spanish, which he picked up on job sites early in his career working alongside his crews.

Alex is a native San Antonian, born at Brooks Army Medical Center. He grew up an Army kid, living in Heidelberg, Germany, and Fort Meade, Maryland, before his family came home to San Antonio. He's also a U.S. Navy veteran, trained as an Aviation Radar Systems Specialist.

Alex started in home improvement in 1984 with Perma Stone, selling stone siding, replacement windows, vinyl siding, sunrooms and roofing. Over four decades he has added tub-to-shower conversions and new home construction to that list. He also sold windows, siding and doors for Window World, which gave him deep, hands-on knowledge of replacement windows. He has been named Salesperson of the Year more than 25 times and holds certifications from Simonton Windows, Alside, Trane, Carrier and Lennox.

He joined NewGen to bring a common-sense approach back to the industry. That means listening to what homeowners want, suggesting smarter and more cost-effective ways to get there, and delivering a result that makes them say "WOW." His advice to anyone getting quotes: be careful with the lowest bid, because the cheapest quote often leaves things out.

Outside of work, Alex and his wife recently celebrated 36 years of marriage. They have a daughter and two dogs, a Pug and a Frenchie they lovingly call "the Monsters." He loves mountain biking and staying active outdoors, and the couple is hooked on estate sales and antiques. He volunteers with Habitat for Humanity and the Jimenez Thanksgiving Dinner.
